After 4 years on the market, we've launched the biggest upgrade yet to the Fence Repair Tool.
Whilst in general it looks much the same, the pivots are now bolted with 12.9 grade shoulder bolts instead of the handmade rivets, which allows for endless adjustment and a smoother action. The ratchet bar has been widened for even easier use, and the best news of all is - all tools now come standard with a 250mm long stainless steel wire twitcher. This is made from 8mm stainless round bar, hand pressed with a 5mm twisting hole. Designed specifically for the Fence Repair Tool after feedback from you!
Now this is important. The tools remain made-to-order with an approximate 12 week lead time. Orders can be placed here to reserve one, they will NOT ship straight away. When they are shipped, you will be notified with the Australia Post express post tracking number at time of dispatch.
The Fence Repair Tool is now even easier to use, having upgraded to a ratcheting edition. A fixed slotted bar replaces the original chain-locked version, making it significantly easier to adjust tension on a fence as the ratchet features an inbuilt handle, and no chain to grip. Fence Repair Tools are now all silver zinc plated and all include the ratchet bar, all 2024 bolted pivot versions also include a 250mm long stainless steel twitcher.
The Fence Repair Tool is designed primarily for rapidly removing slack from tired and sagging fence lines using only a short piece of wire and with no cuts and joins. It can be also used for repairing broken wires.
- Made in Tamworth, Australia by James Higgins in partnership with Walters Fencing
- Laser-cut Australian made Bisalloy Wear 450 steel. Hardened, heat treated and quenched.
- 12.9 grade pivot shoulder bolts
- Electroplated zinc finish for excellent rust resistance
- 350 grade laser cut ratchet bar and handle to make tool easy to handle
- Comfort silicone handles
- Five-year warranty
What it does:
- Tightens loose fences with a knot that is guaranteed not to come undone
- Can be used on plain and barbed wire fence
- Has been designed to be suitable for high tensile wire (tested with 2.8mm high tensile plain wire)
- Useful for removing slack on short sections between strainer boards (gut strain) on hinged joint or ring lock, and works well in conjunction with a crimping tool and wire crimps.
What it doesn't do:
- Not designed for initial strain-up of a new fence. For that, we suggest the Australian-made "Spring Grip" strainers from Fenceline Solutions or the "Strain Walker" from Wireman.
Purchase price is in Australian Dollars, and includes GST and shipping within Australia.
